We just got back from Disney World and it was really really nice. I've been too lazy to post photos but I will put them up on Flickr soon. We go back for our last trip in 18 days :) I have one last doctor's appointment up in Orlando. We almost didn't make it this last time because some guy who got fired from his job decided to go postal and went on a shooting rampage at his former job. They shut down all of downtown Orlando, including I-4. So we sat there for hours. It took us a while to figure out what was going on. Miles and miles and MILES of traffic. Luckily we were up front and got out of there fairly quickly when they opened up some of the roads. That was fun ;)
I've been making Christmas presents :) Now that is actually fun! I am on some "small" gift kick and I don't know why! I just love tiny versions of things! This week I am making myself two hair combs, one beaded and one kanzashi (Japanese style folded fabric flowers) style. I am also making myself a new little notebook cover. You can NEVER have too many notebooks! These 5 1/2 x 4 fat notebooks seem to be my favorite.
We are going down south to Homestead to get some cinnamon rolls from Knaus Berry Farms in a couple weeks (they are seasonal). They're Amish or German Baptists - I forget, but they make THE BEST sticky buns I have ever had. I'm making Thanksgiving dinner this year too so I am planning my menu :D
I suddenly felt inspired and we sat down at a table at the food court and wrote the first book. It just happened and was super fun to do! I made a few concept sketches for the illustrations and then the second book idea struck! I always carry around a cute little notebook and pen for exactly these moments. I really enjoyed it! My husband was a real inspiration.
So what are they about? The simple things I love -- cats and socks! The books are totally me and I just love illustrated books.
I will make the final artwork in Photoshop and my tablet pc (it is so much easier when you can write on the screen!)
I am usually not a fan of anything I do, but these are very cute.
I now need figure out details like are there standard sizes for these kinds of books and do I need more pages? And then .. what do I do with it? submit it somewhere? where? how?
We had a great visit even though it rained incessantly. Chuck took this photo of me in front of one of the Flower and Garden Festival’s topiaries – Cinderella’s carriage. What I didn’t know what that he captured the monorail too! yay!
The first day we were there it was HOT, scorching “this sucks ass” hot, so we hung out in the pool, the second and third day, it rained like crazy and it was cold. It was great!
We stopped at Le Cellier to try to get a dinner reservation both days but no go :( I tried to make a reservation a month and a half ago and I had no luck there either. I guess I should make the reservation now for our anniversary trip in December!
We snacked our way throughout the world and shopped. We rode everything and walked the park a good 3 times around. I’m so glad it rained, it would have been miserable otherwise. By midday Tuesday, it was really pouring and that was a little rough but, whatever, I’m at Disney World!
Ate tons of fish and chips, chilled in a hot tub, played air hockey, ate chocolate mousse and drank espresso in France, ran in the rain, watched fireworks from our hotel, bought a new bonsai tree, mickey hair scrunchie, desk set, minnie pen and Tinkerbell pins.
Photo of us somewhere in France, Epcot.
We fed this friendly ducky and he was nice enough to pose for me for a few photos.
I’m kinda happy to be home, and not, at the same time. I could have spent a month or two there. lol.

Handmade denim/Pooh tote bag, Mickey makeup bag filled with various MAC, Clinique products, and hair accessories, Mickey eyeglass case, Mickey wallet (holds tickets, id, and just the very basics), disposable ponchos (because it’s stupid Florida), kitten change purse, and hand sanitizer.
I forgot my phone too! oops
Tomorrow I'll clean the house and then rest and maybe do some sewing, but probably not. I hate being so tired all the time that I don't do the things I want to and enjoy. We were going to watch a movie tonight but I crapped out.
I am, however, enjoying Netflix. Ordered learn mandarin, cantonese, and japanese 1 dvds.
It's hot as balls outside. Misery.
Sent my mom flowers for mother's day. She got them today and absolutely loved them. They were a complete ripoff but she is more than worth it.
Bought a bunch of new fabric, clearance at Walmart! I picked up some clothing patterns too. I'm very sad they're closing down the fabric department.
I bought a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 laptop. I bought it with very low expectations and it has amazed me. I absolutely love it.It weighs nothing! I bought it at the Dell Outlet store and got an amazing deal. I checked again today and nothing even comes close to the deal I got. SCORE! I especially like that it reads Sony memory cards (my Sony H9 digicam)
Next weekend we go to Disney World. It can't get here sooner. I need it badly.
I feel like a zombie. I'm just out of it. Stupid tired, can't sleep tired. not hungry tired.
What a droll and boring post.

my username is deeklet, and my email address is daniaschneider @gmail.com
p.s. what is the time delay before texting a status and it actually updating on facebook?
It's past 3am and I still can't sleep - this week has sucked.
I will color my own hair, wax my own eyebrows, and do my own nails. I need it and I don't feel like spending a lot of money on it.
I've realized that I don't have any nice clothing. I need new clothes but I have such a hard time finding clothes that fit. I've decided to make them myself. It's pretty easy for me, and I can make exactly what I want instead of settling for what I can find. I dread clothes shopping.
I just ordered myself the Gothic Lolita Bible vol 1 & 5 .. yay free shipping!! My Php programming book came in pretty quickly and I just love it.
I am totally looking forward to Disney World next month :) yay summer vacation!
Recipe:
Adding some nutrition to a box of shells and cheese: (great way to use up leftovers too)
Add about 1/4 - 1/2 cup each to 1 cooked box of shells, rotini, or macaroni and cheese. I prefer the ones with the cheese pouch and not the powdered stuff.
Chopped/cubed ham, bacon, cooked chicken, or turkey, ground beef or cooked ground Italian sausage, kielbasa, lil smokies cut into rings (I love these!!)
Chopped frozen brocolli (my fav) or chopped brocolli/cauliflower mix or asparagus tips or any other vegggie mix, chop into smaller chunks
Frozen peas and carrots mix
1/4 tsp of italian seasoning or 1 tbsp or so of fresh parsely, or cilantro, basil, oregano - whatever you have on hand
dash white wine
Cook for a few minutes to heat ingredients through.

I'm behind on my work now. I'm on some really heavy painkillers and I'm still writhing in pain. I have a wedding on Friday and I have to work 40 hours before then. I need to do my taxes, renew my tag, buy clothes, color my hair, do my nails, and get my eyebrows done. I don't have anything to wear - just jeans and t-shirts. My shoes have holes in them. That's just my stuff, not including Chuck's stuff. He needs clothes and a haircut too. *sigh*
I still haven't made the hotel reservation! crap! I got a ticket for my expired tag too.
Shoot me now, please.
I ordered a new pair of prescription sunglasses from Hong Kong - a brown pair of my beloved buggy sunglasses with a brown fade tint. It costs me a fraction of the price to order from Hong Kong. The packages always come with pretty stamps too.
I am taking my portable watercolor kit with me next weekend and to our Disney World trip next month. I thought it would be cool to make "painted on location" postcards - I think it's such a fun and relaxing (for me) idea.
I have the blinds open in my bedroom and we're watching bats fly outside our bedroom window. Yes, bats! I love those little squeekers!
How I Met Your Mother is now in syndication on Lifetime Network! yay!
All my craft and sewing projects are on hold. I was making mug mats and grocery bags until my tooth knocked on my ass. I'm so hungry too - my jaw hurts too much. This week is going to turn out bad.
On a good note, I am working from home until Thursday.
I am working on my portfolio website since, after all I am looking for a new job. No prospective employer cares that I "didn't have time" to make one. Since most of my experience is in ASP.Net, I'm making the site in PHP/MySql so I have some recent PHP work. I do love PHP and I'm pretty darn handy with it and wouln't mind the switch in development environments. Kinda done with MS.
My lease expires March 2010 so I need to find a job in California by then. I would love to leave next week and would if the opportunity arose, but the truth is the closer to the end of the year I get hired, the more money we have saved, and we get to have our deluxe Disney Honeymoon in December (already booked and half paid) and we can plan and deal with the move properly. It's hard because you can't really time finding a job. I can do my best though.
I feel like crap :(
holy cow my tooth hurts.
We have a wedding next weekend in Cocoa Beach - we're spending the weekend there - it will be nice to get away. I need to make our hotel reservations like *now*.
I need to color my hair and get my eyebrows done. Coloring my hair makes it so much thicker and shiner. I need something to wear too, and shoes and Chuck needs clothes too, and a haircut, and I need to renew the tag on my car, and return stuff to Walmart and find new stuff, and work. When am I supposed to go to the dentist? Ok I don't know why I have such trouble getting to the dentist it's not that bad. I just can't seem to get myself to go.
If I hadn't put it off it wouldn't be an issue right now would it. ugh.
A month from now we'll be at Disney World for a couple nights at Port Orleans French Quarter. My parents paid for the hotel and our Epcot annual passes are good until August so this trip is practically free. We can enjoy the Flower and Garden festival for a couple days and cool off at the pool and hot tub during the early part of the day. I am so looking forward to it.
I am making reusable grocery bags - no more plastic bags.

Ugh, I was going to type more but I can't.
These have caramel inside and the outside layer is so thin and perfectly balanced it's unbeleivable. I've controlled myself to just one or two at a time. Coffee and chocolate is not nutrition!! But OMG it's so good.
I blame Disney, they gave me the first free sample. ;)
A "conversation" is, well, a conversation, not a "convo". I'm sorry but that too is just retarted and pisses me off as well.
I'm not sure why that is irritating me so intensely, but it is.

I like it when the hockey dudes break into fights. Hot.
I've taken narcotics and muscle relaxants and my spine still hurts and feels stiff as a board and my ribs hurt like crazy. Oh well. I see the pain management doc on Monday. I feel so uncomfortable in my own body.
I drafted a crochet pattern yesterday, carved a rubber stamp, and finished my butterfly lunch tote but I haven't been able to photograph them. Some new posts and tutorials will be going up at http://handmadebydania.blogspot.com
Photos:
A very foggy morning in middle-of-nowhere flat Florida.
Horrid cell phone pic of the butterfly lunch tote. The butterfly was made using Japanese fabric folding techniques. I made a fabric covered button for the center. II havve a little fork spoon, and napkin in the drawstring pouch. I am addicted to making lunch totes.
We're thinking about going to Leu Gardens on Monday morning. I love starting the week out this way. We have breakfast in the houuse garden and then tour the grounds and take photos.
I threw the California idea out to my mom so it can start sinking in. I am her only child and she has a hard enough time with me being 300 miles away. She replied with "Well, you know what you are doing". My grandpa (who raised me and is 'dad') was pretty upset. :( He loves me so much and he's given me the world but I have to do this.
Chuck drinks so much milk we simply cannot afford his habit anymore. :P
I think I'll let my bangs grow out this year. I've been pretty kind to my hair since my last cut so it's still looking kinda healthy and it's getting longer and longer in the back again. I lopped off 4 inches last December.
I applied for more jobs today and will everyday until I find my new job. It will happen.
What do you think of the logo? Does it seem to convey my message regarding what types of products I sell? Is it clean looking? Do you like the koi image? (I made it in illustrator). The font I'm using is Eight One. How is the art quality? It's in vector format, so I can resize it to my heart's content without losing quality. Hooray for vector formats!
I plan to use this image on pretty much everything. Fabric tags, online store, blog, business cards, etc. so I want to be sure I've got it right before I do anything else.
All feedback is much welcomed and appreciated!!
